Most Students Are Taught Content. Few Are Taught How MOE Markers Award Marks.

Many students study hard for English, Geography and Social Studies, but still lose marks because schools and tuition centres never really teach them what the MOE Markers truly wants. At EduExcel, students gain insights on how MOE Markers mark & Learn "Insider" Formulas designed to help them score.

Daryl - EduExcel Founder and Main Tutor

Hello, I’m Daryl.

With more than a decade of experience, I’ve seen the same problem year after year: students "studying hard" for English and Humanities but seeing no progress because the subjects feel like a guessing game.

I’m here to change that. Being NIE-trained in Curriculuum Development & Design to MOE standards, and with extensive experience as an ex-Centre HOD, I don’t just "give tuition."

I build systems that reverse engineers requirements of the MOE Markers & Create "insider" formulas that ensures English and humanities are taught with the logic of math and science. This ensures students know exactly what to do to give the MOE Markers what they want to score.

My philosophy is simple:

Students don’t improve by listening—they improve by Thinking, Responding, and being Corrected in real time. In my classes, students are constantly required to explain their answers, justify their thinking, and refine their responses based on how MOE markers award marks.

I built my classes this way because I was once a student who went for countless tuitions yet, still found that acing English and Humanities was like a guessing game.

Today, my students don’t guess—they walk into the exams knowing exactly how to score.

Why Students Excel With Our Systematic Approach

AI-Proof Your Child’s Education

In an era of instant answers, true mastery is becoming a rare competitive advantage. Our framework goes beyond surface-level results, forcing students to engage deeply with the curriculum. We don’t just teach them how to find the answer; we build the critical thinking "engine" that AI can’t replace

The Formula for Excellence

English and Humanities are often taught in an unstructured manner, leaving students guessing what MOE Markers really want.  At EduExcel, we have decoded the syllabus into a repeatable, math and science-like framework. We replace "gut feel" with a systematic 1-2-3 approach that allows students to tackle any exam paper with clinical precision to get A.

The "Hybrid" Learning Angle

Most group classes move too fast for some and too slow for others. At Eduexcel, we use an "Active Participation" model. Every student tackles questions at their own pace and receives immediate, individual feedback on the spot. Your child gets the social motivation of a peer group with the surgical precision of a 1-to-1 coaching session.

"A Significant Jump From Struggling Scores"

My previous attempts at O Level humanities saw me constantly forgetting important details when it mattered most. Daryl approached this issue by customizing a revision timetable that broke the content into small, digestible parts. His “little-and-often” mantra meant I reviewed portions of the syllabus more frequently, embedding the concepts in my memory. The transformation in my retention was noticeable, especially when I tackled past exam questions. On results day, I was overjoyed to see a significant jump from my previously struggling scores.

“Assured to have Him as my Tutor”

Teacher Daryl was very friendly and patient with me and I could always text him about almost anything. I felt assured to have him as a teacher because it was so easy to clarify any doubts and the resources provided were good. He also made sure to identify and explain all the important information to us before out exams so that we know what to take note of

"A Strongly Recommended Tutor!"

Daryl is an excellent tutor, who brought my pure geography up from a C6 to A2 in less than a month or so. He teaches really well as he uses real life analogy to explain certain concepts to me. He even helped me to check my notes and cancels out unnecessary words that I have written so I can memorise my content better. He also went through countless TYS and other school prelim papers. I am so thankful that I had Daryl as my tutor previously as i thought i was going to fail my pure geography. Because of him, it became my favourite subject! Daryl is definitely a strongly recommended tutor!

"Useful approach that benefitted my Child!"

Daryl taught my son English for less than a year when he was in ACSI in Sec 2. My son has a fair command of the English language but difficulty with comprehension primarily because he is disorganised as he suffers from ADHD. Daryl taught my son to be systematic in his approach to questions and this benefited him tremendously.

What People Said About Us!

My IGCSE journey in humanities turned into a positive experience largely thanks to Daryl’s emphasis on active recall. Instead of reading pages of notes passively, we’d do quiz-style reviews and summarize topics in our own words. This simple shift boosted my retention immensely and made lessons feel more interactive. He also taught me how to pace myself so that I didn’t burn out. By the time exam day arrived, I wasn’t panicking—I was quietly confident, and the results reflected that transformation.

Initially, I was convinced I’d never pass my English O Levels, as comprehension passages always left me stumped. Daryl’s patient approach, however, helped me see that I was simply missing a structured method. He introduced me to annotation techniques and taught me to look for critical keywords. More importantly, he kept track of my progress meticulously, checking in with me outside of lesson time to ensure I stayed focused. By the end of the journey, my confidence had grown to the point where I no longer dreaded exam papers.

Michael Pang

For the longest time, I struggled with Pure Geography in preparation for my O Levels, thinking it was simply beyond my grasp. That all changed when Daryl stepped in with his methodical lesson structure. He patiently pinpointed my weak spots and taught me how to focus on critical points in my notes. The transformation was incredible—I moved from a borderline pass in my school exams to confidently aiming for higher grades. Thanks to him, geography no longer felt like a chore but a subject I could truly enjoy.
